In-depth Bible Studies for Men and Women
Why Study the Bible?
At CTR, we desire to grow not only in breadth but in depth. That depth comes from one place: being firmly grounded in God's Word.

- True. It is God's Word to us — not merely a book about God, but God speaking.
- Authoritative. It is our "rule for faith and practice" — the ultimate authority on what we believe and how we live.
- Sufficient. It is more than enough to meet our personal challenges and our cultural moment.
At CTR we believe community isn't something we manufacture by trying harder to "do community" but forms naturally around a shared love and commitment to God's Word. We long to be a people who go deep in Scripture together; because that's where we believe real Christian community is formed.
What to Expect
Our In-Depth Bible Studies are weekly, discussion-based groups that dig into a book of the Bible together — verse by verse, in community. Men's and women's groups meet on separate days and times but study the same book of the Bible and utilize the same discussion materials, in short series that run throughout the year.
Format:
- Weekly, in-person, at the church (61 Neal St, Portland, ME)
- Men's and Women's studies follow the same curriculum
- Large group lecture (20 minutes), followed by small discussion groups (40 minutes)
- Discussion and application based — come ready to engage, not just listen!
