Rev. Sean J.S. Roberts, Pastor

Sean became the pastor of Christ the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in June 2014.  A native of South Texas, he moved to Philadelphia to attend Westminster Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in May 2009.  Prior to coming to CTR, Sean served as an Associate Pastor at New Life Presbyterian Church, where, in addition to preaching and pastoral ministry, he worked directly in mercy ministry, local community service involvement, and with Sr. High Students.

Sean has been married to Claire since 2012.  A native of Portrush, N. Ireland, Claire also is a graduate of Westminster Seminary (counseling) and also served on the staff at New Life before coming to Portland. Together they have two wonderful little daughters, Lily Grace and Isla Yoshie.  They deeply love Portland, and hope to establish deep roots and call this place their home for a long time.   Their favorite thing to do is eat with friends, both old and new, and they love discovering new places in Portland’s booming restaurant scene.

Kendra Hollen

Music Director

Kendra has been a member of CTR since 2009 and, in last couple years, has taken an increasing role in organizing and directing our music.  Originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, Kendra is a classically trained pianist with a BA in Music from Crandall University.

Kendra lives in Freeport with her husband Rick and their five children: Zachary, Rachel, Lydia, Moriah, and Augustin. Kendra and her family enjoy Maine's great outdoors by hiking, biking, skiing, and kayaking whenever possible.

Cheryl Sullivan

Cheryl came to CTR in April 2012 and has been working in the area of bookkeeping and office administration.  She has many years of experience in customer service, office management and accounting and also works as the administrative assistant and treasurer at the church where she is a member.  She has been in that position since 1995.  Cheryl has worked for several pastors over the years and enjoys being part of the day-to-day work of the ministry. Cheryl and her husband of 32 years, Ron, live in Biddeford, Maine.  They are blessed to have three beautiful, adult daughters, a new grandson and a loving Scottish Terrier, Bonny.  They enjoy doing ministry work together in their church and traveling the State of Maine—they especially love Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.  You will spot them at the Jordan Pond House and Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound every July vacation!

The word “Presbyterian” comes from the Greek word, “presbyter,” which means "elder."  This points to the fact that Presbyterian churches are, by definition, "Elder Led."  Each of our elders listed below have been chosen and elected by CTR’s members to shepherd and lead our congregation with our pastor.
