Human beings do not live by bread alone, but they do not live long without it.  To eat is to acknowledge our dependence both on food and on each other.  It also reminds us of other kinds of emptiness that not even the blue plate special can touch. — Frederick Buechner

Per Almquist – Associate PastorRev. Per Almquist

Per (pronounced “pear”) is an Associate Pastor. Having served with Christ the Redeemer for several years, Per and his family have moved north to Lewiston to see God make his gospel visible by establishing Free Grace Presbyterian Church (http://www.freegrace.us).

An avid sports fan, Per believes that the pleasure of playing and watching sports is one sure sign that God exists. Per is a military brat who grew up all over the US, while his wife, Beth, is a native New Englander. Both greatly enjoy the harsh aspects of Maine’s weather – though their three boys enjoy the snow even more than Mom & Dad do. Beth is a music teacher and the local story lady who enjoys her music, stories, and being spoiled as the only girl in the lives of her four guys at home.

You can e-mail Per at:               per.almquist “at” freegrace.us.

Joanne Crosby – Office Manager

Joanne Crosby is our Office Manager. She and husband Robert are native-born Mainers; not “From Away” as we say in Maine. She grew up in Portland and has attended an evangelical church all her life. She came to know Christ as a very young child.

Joanne worked in Portland at an independent insurance agency as a personal lines agent for twenty-seven years. In February of 2003, she joined the staff of Christ the Redeemer Presbyterian as the Office Manager. Joanne is the one who answers the phone here in the office, and she is in charge of keeping everything organized and up-to-date.

“I really enjoy working here and being a part of the first PCA church in Maine. It has been a blessing to be able to watch what God has done here in my hometown.   This ministry work challenges my faith and helps me to grow.  God is indeed faithful and I have seen His faithfulness displayed first hand here in the office and in the lives of this congregation.  May we here at CTR be faithful in obedience to our Lord.”

You can email Joanne at:               jcrosby “at” ctrportland.org.
